Grow More Like Jesus
Since launching Lifecentre, our heart has remained the same. In God’s unfailing love, we are growing together with Jesus to make a difference in our city. Want to download a little “checklist” of sorts? These are all taken from Acts 2 and are rhythms the first followers of Christ engaged to be more like Jesus and, as a result, change the world.
Here is a question we often receive? Specifically, what does Lifecentre do to help us grow to be more like Jesus? We focus on three main things to grow more like Jesus. Together, we are:
1. Gathering
2. Growing
3. Going
We gather on Sundays, as Generations, and in Conferences (Heart and Strong)
Every Sunday, we gather, focusing on worship, the Word, and a way to become more like Jesus. Our churches have different Sunday gathering times, but we all value Sunday gatherings.
We also value generations gathering together until the end of high school for age-specific discipleship. These are critical and deeply formative times. Finally, we host two conferences yearly: one for women, Heart, and the other for men, Strong. We believe in gender equality and difference. There is something unique about men and women. We invest in this uniqueness with a focused conference for men and women.
Like Jesus did, we gather to grow more like Jesus.
GROWING
We grow together by worshipping and walking alongside one another. You can walk with others on a Starting, Community, or Ministry path to grow together.
Starting
Starting your smaller group discipleship adventure at Lifecentre is a ten-week investment where you, to grow more like Jesus, become Planted and Rooted at Lifecentre. We created an entire space for you to explore and take steps on this path at Lifecentre.
Community
After completing your Starting Path, we want you to commit to walking alongside others, just like Jesus did. Our community pathways are for the long haul – think lifelong discipleship. We are not always in the same group but hold the same posture; we need one another.
Becoming Heartstrong involves walking together through the whole of the Bible. It takes place on Zoom Monday through Thursday at 6:00 a.m. Sign up to receive the Zoom link. Join us anytime!
LifeGroups
As followers of Jesus, we want to live as Jesus lived by investing in relationships. We believe God created us to live in relationships with others. Living in a community is part of our design, but meaningful relationships aren’t always easy to find. That’s why LifeGroups exist – to make these life-changing relationships accessible to you. We have various groups for Couples, Men, Women, Adults and Students. Also, life flows in seasons, and we want to make it easy for you to be the right Group.
Prayer & Care
We all are called to pray, and we will each need care. When it comes to prayer, you can receive prayer, or once we get to know you a little, join our prayer team, which prays for anyone after each service. This is a tremendous honour and opportunity to exercise the various spiritual gifts God has placed in you at Lifecentre, where we can experience His presence. Each of our churches also has times of prayer where we pray together – this is called Lifecentre Prayer.
Ministry
Still, there is one more unique aspect of Lifecentre: our ministry path. Do you wish to be better equipped as a minister? Perhaps you want to pursue a calling to ministry? We also have a ministry path. Think trade school meets college—and that is this path. As we did with our Starting Path, we created an entire space for you to learn more about Lifecentre School of the Bible.
Lifecentre cares. We want to serve our church and our city family well. There are many opportunities to serve both on Sundays and throughout the week. We’re a family; life works best when we all pitch in. Discover the ways you can serve others. Serving is equally us following Jesus.
To serve like Jesus, you must discover your spiritual gift, which the Holy Spirit has given you. When you serve, your gift makes a Jesus-sized difference. If you have given your life to Christ, you can discover your spiritual gift today. Visit lifecentre.org/spiritual-gifts to take your free assessment.

You said yes to Jesus. Now what’s next Inside this little free book, you’ll discover more about what your decision to follow Jesus means. Each day will include daily thoughts from the Bible and ideas to try for yourself.
Together, we’ll answer questions like “what does this mean,”“what should I do,” and “what does this change?” Our hope is that this tool can provide guidance as you begin your journey of following Jesus.
This book is organized into 21 days, but feel free to go at the pace that best helps you grow. You might finish this book in 100 days, 21 days, or a week. You might even keep reading it over and over. Finishing the book is less important than finding direction, growing in confidence, and starting conversations with others about what you’re learning.
Following Jesus is a process of taking next steps, one day at a time.
A Recommended Resource
We are constantly being formed by the world around us. To be formed by Jesus will require us to become his apprentice.
To live by what the first Christian disciples called a Rule of Life—a set of practices and relational rhythms that slow us down and open up space in our daily lives for God to do what only God can do—transforms the deepest parts of us to become like him.
This introduction to spiritual formation is full of John Mark Comer’s trademark mix of theological substance and cultural insight as well as practical wisdom on developing your own Rule of Life.
These ancient practices have much to offer us. By learning to rearrange our days, we can follow the Way of Jesus. We can be with him. Become like him. And do as he did.
