This beautiful lady could use some extra prayers and love sent her way.
Yesterday I had a phone appointment with Lena‘s neurosurgeon.
Lena was scheduled for surgery sometime in October. She has spinal stenosis- C7 is compressing the spinal cord and needs to be removed. We knew that; part of the reason for her move to where she could take some daily burdens off and rest more.
Unfortunately there has been some significant changes in the past two weeks. When the neurosurgeon heard the changes he asked that I take my mom to ER immediately for an immediate assessment by a neurosurgeon on call.
Lena was admitted yesterday. She has had a CT scan and now an MRI of the head, neck and full spine.
They will keep Lena in patient until surgery in the next few days. They will determine the extent of the surgery based on the new imagining.
Lena is at peace. Strong. Full of her sweet joy. Kind. Thoughtful of others. Beautiful.
Lena is looking at with a positive outlook, get the surgery done and begin healing.
She is a remarkable lady.
