My Mom, Lena has had spinal stenosis with degeneration of the discs for decades. A surgeon said she needs surgery ASAP.
Lena needs surgery on her neck to prevent further disability.
Normally there would be a six - 12 month wait due to the pandemic. The surgeon wants to operate in six weeks, beginning of August, or sooner if there is further decline.
Recovery will involve wearing a neck splint at all times for six weeks to be sure there is no movement to the head or neck.
Unfortunately there is no guarantee of improvement of symptoms or mobility as the damage could be permanent, but the surgery is absolutely necessary to preserve the mobility and quality of life Lena does have. The prayer will be for improvement.
Lena is not scared about the surgery. She knows from her decline that it is necessary and time. She trusts God and sees His absolute plan in taking care of her every step of the way.
