God Is… | Unity

God is unity because God is love; because God is no respecter of persons; because God is just; because God created us as a body; and because God is good.

At the core of unity is love and at the core of disunity is insecurity. Unfortunately I have never met someone who has not battled with some form of insecurity at some point in their life therefore disunity is going to be a constant battle we face.

God desires a people who operate as a body. Each person thriving in their own diversity yet firmly focused on the mission of making disciples, loving God with all our hearts and loving others as ourselves. Scripture is full of instruction on our mission and God desires that we walk out this mission in unity.

It’s not hard to see differences in people… give a married couple a task and you can almost guarantee that they will accomplish that task differently. If the goal and the end result is the same then it doesn’t really matter how we accomplish the task at hand. Just because we do things differently doesn’t mean we are divided. It’s important for us not to get caught up and focused on what others are doing or not doing. When we spend our energy and attention on what God is calling us to do we will not become distracted by what others are doing or not doing. God is sovereign and He will have His way. Walking in unity is walking with God.
