Thursday – Hearing God in Storms

Whispers | Hearing God In… Storms

I experienced a storm not too long ago and it was a storm that just came suddenly. On February 9th, I was visiting my parents new home and fell and broke my wrist in their driveway. Actually I shattered my wrist. With the busyness of our lives, this was a real curve ball and our whole life went on hold. Jay did so much juggling between caring for me, his work, children and home needs that I am sure he would be hired at the circus!

I ended up needing surgery and am still on the mend three months later.

I knew God was with me because of the incredible spiritual time I had with God. It was incredible and I did not expect this to be such a profound time for me spiritually. It is funny now looking back that it took me to shatter my wrist to have two days in the hospital all alone with me and God. It was an amazing time and God spoke deeply into my heart during my stay in the hospital.

A thankfulness rose in my heart for all the small things I saw God do and arrange during this trying time. It was amazing. From the care at the hospital to the love and support of friends and family, I was truly overwhelmed.

God used this storm to get my attention, to have me all to Himself and to show me a side of gratefulness that I had not experienced. Being vulnerable and dependent opened up a new level of awareness of the love and support that I have in my life.
