The account of Palm Sunday fascinates me. As Jesus enters the city on a donkey, of all things, the people begin to bow and worship and cry out to Him “Hosanna in the Highest”.
I come to the Easter weekends with mixed feelings. As much as I celebrate the hero’s welcome Jesus is receiving from the crowds, they will be quick to turn on Him in just a few days.
Picture this moment…the crows have just declared their Hosanna’s over Him. Yet for Jesus, this moment must have been difficult.
I love that in this story, Jesus knowing full out that Judas was going to betray him still loved him, and served him. That blows my mind.
The cross is the gate for me. There is no other way to the Father but through the cross. There is no forgiveness of sins but through the cross.
If you have lived long enough to know the amazing joy of friendship, you have most likely also experienced a betrayal or loss of friendship.
When I think of the story of the last supper I marvel at the power of community. Jesus and his disciples lived in community and what they were able to accomplish together has changed the world forever.
When I think of Jesus preparing to have a final meal with His disciples, I am moved by His foreknowledge of Judas’ betrayal.
Today I am going to write only a few words, but if you let them sit for a moment – they have have the ability to course correct our lives, even in the midst of our most trying moments.
When I think of the road Jesus had to travel down to be proclaimed my HEALER…I am in awe. Every time I hear a song that declares God’s healing virtue, my heart sores.
